Hachette-Phoenix's import offers French taste to readers

Simplissime, an easy French cookbook with its Chinese copyright imported by Hachette-Phoenix Culture Development (Beijing) Ltd, launched its Chinese edition on May 28 during the 2016 China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services.

The book, claimed as the easiest cookbook in the world by its author J.F Mallet, was a bestseller in France in 2015, selling 500,000 copies in its first eight months. The book's copyright has been sold to China, the US, UK, Germany, South Korea, Spain and Portugal.

The launch ceremony of Simplissime is held on May 28 during the 2016 China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services.

The participants of its launching ceremony included Philippe Bardol, director of Ubifrance (France Trade Commission) at the French Embassy, She Jiangtao, vice-president of Phoenix Publishing and Media Inc (PPM), and representatives from its publisher the Publishing House of Electronics Industry and main e-commerce distributor JD.com.

Dedicated to publishing literature, life and leisure books, Hachette-Phoenix imported the bestseller, an embodiment of French fashion, aesthetics and humanity, in a bid to promote cultural exchange between China and France, according to She.

Hachette-Phoenix Culture Development is a joint venture by PPM and Hachette Livre. Hachette Livre is one of the largest publishers in the world, with a major presence in France, UK, the USA, Spain and Australia.
