Phoenix Publishing and Media Group's (PPMG) lab for integrating traditional publishing and new media was recently recognized and listed by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television in November 2016.

Following a thorough investigative process conducted by industry experts, PPMG and other 19 publishing and media research institutions excelled out of a field numbering more than 200 candidates.

The mission for these key national labs is to provide intellectual, technical, and practical support for emerging companies in traditional publishing.

PPMG's lab works in cooperation with Nanjing University and has Zhang Jiankang as its director. The lab is largely engaged in researching digital production. It also carries out research on cloud-computing and big-data-based mass media publication to develop a new and power publishing group.
