Phoenix Publishing & Media International (London) Ltd, the first overseas subsidiary of PPMG, was founded in May 2012 and now has the London-based Xanadu Publishing Ltd and the Yingyi Culture (Nanjing) Ltd under its umbrella. The subsidiary has been working jointly with local publishing agencies and higher learning institutes to promote the exchanges of books, arts and cultural products between China and the United Kingdom.

UK scientists have urged their government to take "more restrictive measures" to tackle the novel coronavirus as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Britain had reached 1,372 by March 15.

In response, the London subsidiary has asked all employees to avoid going out and attending unnecessary public gatherings. Epidemic-prevention posters from the UK's National Health Service were put up in the headquarters, face masks, anti-bacteria hand wash and other medical supplies were prepared, and the entire working area is cleaned and disinfected every two weeks.

The scheduled Spring Festival celebrations were also canceled and all copyright trade meetings were shifted online.
