The English learning books Our World.

An online launch ceremony for the English learning books Our World was held by Phoenix Education Publishing Ltd and the Beijing branch of Cengage Learning on April 21.

The books are written for children aged 6 to 12 and center around human beings' relations with society, nature and themselves. They are helpful in cultivating good study and living habits as well as positive values.

Based on the database of the United States-based magazine National Geographic, the English learning books are not only good learning materials, but also reading materials to familiarize young readers with the world.

In accordance with the world's most advanced educational theory and teaching methods, the books integrate interdisciplinary learning, intercultural communication, project-based English learning, and audio-visual-oral learning.

They also focus on developing critical thinking skills and helping readers form scientism and a global consciousness.

Two online seminars on English teaching, held on April 21 and 29 as part of the launch event, attracted nearly 20,000 teachers from Guangdong province.

Mei Deming, professor at Shanghai International Studies University, Rong Wenmin, deputy editor-in-chief of Phoenix Education Publishing Ltd, and Wang Tong, charger of Cengage Learning's English Language Teaching business in East China, delivered a speech at the online seminars.
