The 13th Jiangsu Book Fair opens in Suzhou on July 1.

The 13th Jiangsu Book Fair opened in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, on July 1, which also marked the opening of the 2023 Library Collection Trade Fair.

With an exhibition area of 25,000 square meters, the five-day book fair attracted nearly 400 publishers and over 500 suppliers, who exhibited 160,000 kinds of books.

The main exhibition venue in Suzhou hosted more than 270 activities to promote reading, and online influencers and publishers were invited to host live-streaming sales for exhibits.

Renowned writers, including Sun Xiaoyun, Liu Xinwu, and Ye Zhaoyan, released their new books online and on-site, or held book signings and sharing meetings during the book fair.

The book fair also highlighted a variety of exhibitions related to books, such as the Yangtze River-Grand Canal culture-themed book exhibition, which uses books, videos, photos, and words to introduce the customs, relics, and culture along the two waterways.

A total of 165 book fairs, including the Literary Capital of the World-themed Book Fair in Nanjing and the Huaihai Book Fair in Xuzhou, were held province-wide on the same day as the 13th Jiangsu Book Fair.

The Jiangsu Book Fair this year was sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial Government and organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Press and Publication, Suzhou Municipal Government, and Phoenix Publishing and Media Group.
