Book on China's space development to be published in multiple languages

Signing ceremony for the publication of the multi-language editions of Up into the Sky is held in Beijing on June 19.

Up into the Sky, a book written by Zhang Jianhua, chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, on the development of China's space industry, is set to be published in English, Korean, Turkish and Kyrgyz with a view to sharing the country's grand history and magnificent achievements in astronomy with the world.

A ceremony for the multilingual publishing of the book was held in Beijing on June 19. The book showcases a large picture of China's vast astronomical development from ancient times to the present day, with a focus on the tremendous achievements in the space industry in the new era.

Over the course of three years, the author traveled thousands of miles, reviewed millions of words of materials, and interviewed dozens of academicians and scientists of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The book details the development and results of major astronomical projects in China, such as the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopy Telescope, the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (or China Sky Eye), China's lunar exploration program, the "Tianwen-1" Mars probe, the Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory, and the China Space Station Telescope, showcasing China's glorious journey of technological self-reliance and self-improvement.

Ouyang Ziyuan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that the publication and promotion of this book can provide valuable insights into the development of astronomy and aerospace endeavors. It also helps teach people about science and enhances public scientific awareness, he said.
