Founded January 1, 1953, Jiangsu People’s Publishing is engaged in a wide range of publishing, with social sciences and humanities as its main strengths.

It has a rich heritage and many famous titles. The academic series includes Studies on Marxism, Forefront of Political Science, Studies in History, Studies in Religion, Metaphysical Studies, and Collectanea of Chinese Studies from Overseas. The general publishing category ranges from literature, history and philosophy to books for children and young adults. The textbooks are widely adopted and enjoyed a very good reputation among teachers and students. Magazines include Directors & Boards and Popular Archaeology.

Over the years, Jiangsu People’s Publishing has maintained a close relationship with overseas counterparts. Since the 1950s, its publications have been exhibited or published in other languages in over 20 countries, with several winning awards internationally. In the last decade, the publishing house has sold rights to more than 30 overseas counterparts, while purchasing dozens of titles annually.
