PPMG, headquartered in Nanjing, Jiangsu, is ranked 6th among the World's Top Ten Publishing Companies in 2015 according to The Global Ranking of the Publishing Industry, which was released on June 26.

Three other Chinese publishers made the top 50 – the China South Publishing & Media Group, China Publishing Group, and China Education Publishing & Media. This is the first time for both Phoenix and China South to make the top 50 list and rank 6th and 7th respectively.

The Global Ranking of the Publishing Industry, compiled by the Rüdiger Wischenbart Consulting Corp, has been published annually by France's Livres Hebdo every year since 2007.

Rüdiger Wischenbart says that there are at least three things in this ranking that deserve attention: one, the greater role played by the digital and global transition of publishing; two, the rise of Chinese publishing reflected in the fact that there are four Chinese companies among the top 50 and two in the top 10 ; and three, the new mergers and acquisitions before the 2015 ranking.

The revenues of 56 companies for 2014 in this year's ranking exceed 150 million euros, while total revenues come to 59.3 billion euros, a rise of 13 percent compared with 2013.
