Phoenix titles won best exported and imported books awards
The winners of the 14th Annual Outstanding Exported and Imported Books Award were recently announced. A total of 15 publications by the Phoenix Publishing & Media won awards.
The books An Introduction to Chinese Classics: Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism and Back to Marx: Changes of Philosophical Discourse in the Context of Economics by Jiangsu People's Publishing, The most adorable faces in the world - Twenty Years' Research into Yunnan Golden Monkeys in China and Ten Key Formula Families in Chinese Medicine by Phoenix Science Press, Ai Wan's Daffodil Ball (Korean version) and Bronze and Sunflower (German version) by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing, and On Moral Capital, The Blazing City — 1938 and Anthologies of the Twentieth Century Chinese Literature by Yilin Press won the 2014 Annual Outstanding Exported Books Award.
The winners of the 2014 Annual Outstanding Imported Titles included Mark Elvin's The Retreat of the Elephants: An Environmental History of China by Jiangsu People’s Publishing, Mohsen Mostafavi and Gareth Doherty's Ecological Urbanism by Phoenix Science Press, Effective Teaching Methods (7E) by Phoenix Education Publishing, Happy Primary School Days by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing, and Andrés Neuman's El Viajero Del Siglo (Traveller of the Century) and Ann Beattie's The New Yorker Stories by Yilin Press.
Xie Shanqing, publisher at Yilin Press, was awarded the "outstanding personality" for her contribution to exporting and importing Chinese and foreign language titles. Wu Xiaohong, director of the international cooperation department at Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing, won the 2014 Best Copyright Manager Award.
The award was jointly hosted by the working committee for international publication at the Publishers Association of China, the Chinese Publication Science and Research Institute and the Information on Publication Journal Press. The joint committee selected 100 best books translated from Chinese to foreign languages in the exported titles category, 80 best books in the imported category, six outstanding personalities in helping exporting and importing books, and 10 best copyright managers.
