Phoenix Media attends international publishing workshop

A team from Phoenix Media attended a workshop on international book translation and publishing in the city of Nanjing, Jiangsu province on Oct 19-21.

Jointly held by the China International Publishing Group (CIPG) and Southeast University, the three-day workshop was aimed at enhancing publishers' sensitivity to cross-cultural communication during translation and providing a platform for training and discussion among high-end translation and publishing professionals.

More than 60 people took part in the event, including 12 employees from Phoenix Media, as well as professionals from government, publishing agencies and higher education institutions.

The organizers invited experts from home and aboard such as Huang Youyi, former vice-president and editor-in-chief of CIPG, Lynette Shi, associate professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, and Nicolas Berthiaume, foreign expert at CIPG, to give lectures, which covered a range of topics including international publishing, translation in cross-cultural communication and media integration.
