Phoenix Group enters Polish book market
Phoenix Publishing and Media Group (PPMG) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Poland's largest e-book publisher Legimi in the country's capital Warsaw on Dec 14.
Following the agreement with the Jiangsu-based publishing company, Grzegorz Majerowicz, vice-president of the Polish Chamber of Books, delivered a speech in which he praised the level of cooperation between the Chinese and Polish companies. He hopes the deal will be a model case for future bilateral Belt and Road Initiative projects in the publishing sector.
Zhou Bin, the group vice-chairman, believes both sides can benefit from the newly struck cooperation. PPMG will take advantage of Legimi's advanced technology and developed networks to improve distribution. Legimi has the opportunity to introduce previously unreleased Chinese publications in Poland.
Also in attendance at the signing ceremony were Mikolaj Malaczyński, CEO and co-founder of Legimi, Katarzyna Kaniewska, director at Foreign Relations Department of Polish Chamber of Commerce, and representatives from both the Polish Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Poland.
