Phoenix Media holds seminars for humanities projects
Phoenix Publishing and Media Inc (PPM) has held select seminars for its high-end book project, Fenghuang Wenku (Phoenix Library), at its subsidiaries Jiangsu People's Publishing on Jan 23 and Phoenix Education Publishing on Feb 10.
Fenghuang Wenku is a signature product of PPM and has served as an important publishing platform for books dedicated to the humanities and social sciences. Aimed at promoting innovation in academic, ideological, and theoretical circles, the project has facilitated rich cultural exchange between China and the west.
Since its conception in July 2007, the project has selected 676 topics for 19 series and has published on 391 distinct topics. Furthermore, the publishing house has both identified and outlined an additional 255 topics for future publishing.
Jiangsu People's Publishing has also selected 36 topics for a six book series using historic research, overseas Chinese research, and public management. Phoenix Education Publishing has also planned a further 13 topics for its new "Urban Research Series".
She Jiangtao, PPM's vice-president, has urged publishers to raise the brand image of the projects and ensure the quality of the book series. She Jiangtao hopes the projects will provide academic support for the study of Chinese humanities and social sciences.
