Zhang Jiankang, chairman of Phoenix Publishing and Media Group (PPMG), visited a reporting team from a subordinate newspaper during the recent two sessions in Beijing on March 5.

Modern Express, a Nanjing-based newspaper owned by PPMG, dispatched a special report team for the 2017 two sessions – the annual meetings of the National People's Congress (NCP) and the National Committee of the CPPCC were held in Beijing from March 3 to 16. The NCP and CPPCC deputies from the Jiangsu delegation were available to receive the newspapers before noon every day.

Earlier this year, the newspaper publisher made a detailed report plan for this year’s two sessions, including selecting team members, soliciting opinions, and discerning which topics were most of public interest.

Zhang encouraged the team to fulfill their reporting obligations with accuracy, attention to factualness, and in a timely fashion.
