Phoenix Science Press issues STEM educational book series

Phoenix Science Press has issued its STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) educational book series at the 2017 International STEM Science Fest held in Suzhou, Jiangsu province from July 17 to 19.

To strengthen understanding and knowledge of educational philosophy in STEM, Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education invited senior science and technology experts, education experts and teachers to compile the series.

The series introduces some typical teaching cases in primary and middle schools and shares high-quality STEM courses and practices of exploratory education. Six volumes of the series targeted at pupils and junior high school students have been published. To benefit more readers, the publisher plans to publish STEM books and courses available to high school students.

She Jiangtao, chief editor of Phoenix Media, said in his address at the event that Phoenix Science Press will take advantage of the book series to promote the transformation and upgrade of the publisher’s operation.

Besides publishing textbooks, the publisher has been looking to publish courses. It is also considering smart and digital publication of educational materials, according to the chief editor. He stressed that Phoenix Science Press will create an industrial chain of STEM education and explore new ways to facilitate STEM education.

The event, organized by Jiangsu Youth Scientific Center, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and Suzhou-based Xi’ an Jiaotong Liverpool University, attracted 3,000 education experts and visitors from China, Britain, the United States and Australia. They took part in discussions on topics such as STEM education, international exchange and development trend of future education.
