PIP unveils readers' activity center in Chicago
Phoenix International Publications (PIP), a US-based division of China's publishing giant Phoenix Publishing & Media Group, held a ceremony at its headquarters in Chicago to celebrate the establishment of the group's center for China Readers' Club (CRC) on July 25.
Sun Zhenfu, president of Phoenix Media, and Vincent Douglas, PIP's Chief Executive Officer jointly unveiled CRC Chicago and New York centers.
CRC was proposed by the Chinese Culture Translation Studies and Support (CCTSS) under the Ministry of Culture, one of the main organizations advocating the reading of Chinese books abroad. It aims to promote outstanding Chinese cultural products to the world.
PIP was authorized by the CCTSS and the ministry to set up the first overseas activity centers on July 14, during the 7th Jiangsu Book Fair.
The opening of the activity centers in Chicago and New York will be conducive to PIP's internalization strategy and Sino-US cultural exchanges.
PIP during the ceremony pledged to help build an international exchange platform and contribute to the cultural exchanges between China and the US. The division l also expressed its commitment to attach great importance to upgrading cooperation levels inside PIP's North American Property Rights Trade Center.
