Phoenix Publishing & Media Group (PPMG), China's biggest publishing group, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the UK-based publishing and education technology company Wonderbly on June 17.
George Hollingbery, Minister for Trade Policy at the UK's Department for International Trade, witnessed the signing.
According to the MoU, the two sides will work on bringing innovative personalized reading and learning to the Chinese market and creating individualized children's books with authentic Chinese features for international readers.
The cooperation marks a new chapter in PPMG's global foray. The British company is dedicated to preparing children for life’s major milestones and since 2012 has seen its best-selling books delight over four million children and grown-ups all over the world.
She Jiangtao, vice president of PPMG, led a previous visit to Wonderbly in May and proposed carrying out more innovation-driven cooperation in the future.
Other deals between British and Chinese companies worth more than £500 million were announced the same day at Mansion House during a visit to the UK by Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua.
