The Arabic version of Fighting Epidemic with A Child's Heart: Big Eye Heartwarming Picture Book by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing

To help fight the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing donated a set of children's picture books on fighting the pandemic to over 80 countries and regions.

Copyright ownership of Fighting Epidemic with A Child's Heart: Big Eye Heartwarming Picture Book was granted free of charge to 80 national sections under the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), as well as other publishing agencies and organizations. The book tells touching stories about the battle against the pandemic through the eyes of children and showcases the proper way to handle the outbreak.

The special copyright export received immediate praise from Nepal, Lebanon, India, Vietnam, and the United States. The following is an article by Mohamad EI Khatib, CEO of Digital Future, a leading Lebanese publishing company.

China the unbreakable country

It's as if the more than 1.4 billion people of China are of one body – if any fall ill, the rest will support them until they recover. China will be always be great due to its people, its leadership, and its cohesion. Throughout the crisis, the Chinese leadership and people have continually proved themselves to the world.

China's exceptionality comes from the integrity of its people and its fine leaders who were tested by the coronavirus. They all acted with caution and courage and did not collapse under the weight of the virus.

Since the beginning of the crisis, everyone has been handling it responsibly. The Chinese people have united in the fight against the epidemic, from top to bottom, everyone works for everyone.

During my collaboration with Chinese publishers, I was struck by their seriousness and genuine efforts. Authors, illustrators, artists, and publishers have been recruited to defend their homeland. They have carried out the vision of the Chinese leadership with the Belt and Road Initiative, just as they spread culture and science throughout the world in the past.

Today, they are continuing to deliver on their responsibilities to the world by spreading awareness on how to prevent the epidemic. It is truly amazing how the people are in tune with the leadership and how they are able to achieve initiatives and goals at the heart of the crisis.

We are introducing Arabic translations of educational stories for students on how to fight the epidemic. We are sharing Chinese experiences and stories that have occurred amid this crisis. Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing recognized the importance of sharing such experiences during this crisis.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, they have realized how important it is to be proactive in pursuing the dissemination of culture and science to the world and that books on the epidemic must also cater to children's psychology and reading habits.

Therefore, Phoenix Juvenile and Children Publishing Ltd. has invited famous writers such as Zhao Ling and Zhang Xiaoling, as well as well-known illustrators such as Yan Qing and Zhou Yi, to create a series of books—Fighting Epidemic with A Child's Heart: Big Eye Heartwarming Picture Book.

These books take children's reading habits, psychological development, and aesthetic preferences into consideration and are full of childlike innocence and humanistic concerns. They are opening the world's eyes to how children view the crisis and how they react to different situations.

We are publishing several titles belonging to Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing to share Chinese experiences during the epidemic with people in the Arabic-speaking world.
