The Silk Road explores the origins and development of the Grassland Silk Road and Maritime Silk Road as well as the different nationalities and cultures along the roads and their interactions.

The Arabic version of the Silk Road will be published in Egypt this week.

The Chinese book published by Jiangsu People's Publishing Ltd consists two parts: Grassland Silk Road and Maritime Silk Road, while the Arabic version will be split into two entirely separate books.

The book analyzes the historical influence and practical significance of the two Silk Roads by exploring their origins and development as well as the different nationalities and cultures along the roads and their interactions.

The author, Professor Liu Yingsheng, participated in the investigation on the Maritime Silk Road, Grassland Silk Road, and Nomad/Altay Silk Road organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on behalf of China.

The Silk Road is the culmination of Professor Liu's work studying and investigating the roads and is recognized by academic circles as a milestone in the field.

In 2017, Bayt Alhekma, an Egyptian cultural investment company, signed a deal with Jiangsu People's Publishing Ltd to publish the book in Arabic.

In recent days, the Al-Ahram newspaper and another Egyptian mainstream media outlet have recommended the book.

Al-Ahram said in its report that the book is believed to be the first translated from Chinese to Arabic which explores the history of ancient Silk Road.

"The ancient Silk Road not only facilitated friendly relations between Asia and Africa, the West and the East, but also was a way for different peoples to engage in verbal communication," another media noted in its report.
