In 2004 China held for the first time the contest "The Beauty of Books" in order to select a work for the competition "Best Book Design from all over the World", held in Leipzig. The Choice of Leipzig contains the books selected in this competition from 2004 to 2019. In its more than 1,500 pages, it records 209 of the most beautiful books with colour pictures, together with information about their countries, authors, and designers. It also provides detailed information about the prizes won by these works and descriptions of their design highlights. In addition, the Choice of Leipzig contains the original comments on the books in English and a Chinese-English summary. The Choice of Leipzig can be considered an encyclopedia of the most beautiful books all over the world.
