An online salon for the Chinese novel Because of Dad.

A salon for the Chinese novel Because of Dad was held in Tunisia both online and offline on June 17, marking the opening of the Chinese Literature Readers Club of Tunisia.

The activity was attended by more than 40 writers, professors, university students, and journalists from both countries, including Han Qingchen, author of Because of Dad, Elhaj Ahmed Khaled, translator of the Arabic version of Because of Dad, and Professor Ding Yang, dean of the Confucius Institute of Carthage University Tunis.

Han shared her experiences in creating children's literature and the backstory behind the novel Because of Dad, which tells the story of an orphan whose father is a heroic policeman.

Professor Khaled explained what he thought of the novel, saying that a father's love is great and he should always protect his children. He said he believes that the book will strike a chord with readers from a variety of countries.

Participating readers discussed their thoughts on Because of Dad and Tunisian readers' broad demand of Chinese literature.

With help from the Tunisia-based Oriental Knowledge Publishing Company, the Chinese Literature Readers Club of Tunisia will translate and publish more outstanding Chinese literature works in Tunisia and help locals learn about China in a bid to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries and strengthen the bond between their peoples.
