The Sinhalese version of Fighting Epidemic with A Child's Heart: Big Eye Heartwarming Picture Book.

The Ministry of Education in Sri Lanka recently awarded certificates of commendation to the Sinhalese version of seven books published by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing Ltd, meaning that these books can now be promoted at local schools and libraries.

The books include A Journey of Nine Thousand Millimeters, Fighting Epidemic with A Child's Heart: Big Eye Heartwarming Picture Book, and Bronze and Sunflower.

The chairman of Sri Lanka branch of International Board on Books for Young People spoke highly of Fighting Epidemic with A Child's Heart: Big Eye Heartwarming Picture Book.

He noted that the books not only tell touching stories about the fight against COVID-19, but also encourage people to learn about viruses and diseases throughout their lives. He also thanked the Chinese publisher for sharing China's experience in fighting the epidemic.

The rights to the series have been exported to 19 countries in Asia, Europe, North America, Africa, and Oceania.

In addition, the chairman believes that Bronze and Sunflower is a book worth reading for students in Sri Lanka and that it can teach people about China as well as the preciousness of friendship.

Bronze and Sunflower tells the story of a friendship between country boy Bronze and city girl Sunflower. By chance, they become close friends, living and growing up together with their parents and grandmother.

Since it was first published in 2005, the book has been exported to 19 countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy. In 2017, it was shortlisted for book lists compiled by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Publishers Weekly.
