Dmytro Tiniakov, professor at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, gives a speech at the launch ceremony of the first Jiangsu Scholars Translated series.

Hu Zhu, deputy director of the Information Office of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, said at the launch ceremony that academic publishing is the most direct reflection of a country's ideological innovation and cultural preservation, while the capacity of overseas academic publishing mirrors a county's cultural soft power and influence.

He expects the program to introduce more Chinese scholars to the world and show a real, three-dimensional and comprehensive image of China.

Xu Hai, editor-in-chief of Phoenix Publishing and Media Inc, noted that Phoenix Media aims to become a hub of academic publishing and keep up with the global publishing industry.

While bringing in the best academic works, Phoenix Media also introduces original works of Chinese scholars to overseas experts and other readers, Xu added.

Xu said that Phoenix Media has summarized some experiences in academic publishing and will publish more high-quality original works, export more copyrights, and ensure the quality of translated works.

British writer Asun Alvarez and Dmytro Tiniakov, professor at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, also shared their thoughts on the Jiangsu Scholars Translated series program and what they have learnt from the books.
