German version of Woodee's Adventure.

The German version of Woodee's Adventure debuted at the 29th Beijing International Book Fair in Beijing on June 15.

Published by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing Ltd in 2003, the book tells the story of Woodee searching for the Old Man Cloth Bag whose puppet lost a foot. It turns out that Woodee is the foot.

Woodee's Adventure is a beautiful fairytale with a poetic style. The story consists of 14 chapters. The end of the previous chapter's sonnet is the same as the first sentence of the next chapter, while the first sentences of the previous 14 chapters' sonnets form the epilogue's sonnet.

Leonie Weidel, translator of the German version, noted at the launch ceremony that the book can inspire readers of all ages and that the story is about searching for an identity, not losing oneself, and helping each other and being kind to one another.

Weidel said that she feels lucky to translate such a wonderful work of literature and that although there are unique Chinese cultural characteristics, these characteristics are quite important and readers with any cultural background can understand them.
