Fan Ming (L), director of the Publishing and Global Business Department at PPM, and Dr. Niels Peter Thomas, Managing Director for Books and President for Greater China, Springer China, sign the memorandum in Beijing.
Phoenix Publishing and Media Inc signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation with Springer Nature, a global publishing agency, in Beijing on June 17 at the 29th Beijing International Book Fair.
The three-year deal is expected to advance the joint publication of the English version of PPM's original academic products, explore the publication of German versions, and leverage each party's own advantages to promote Chinese academic works worldwide.
Both sides will establish a regular communication mechanism, share information about selected subjects, and draft co-publication agreements, according to the deal.
Agreements on publishing the German version of Hope of Philosophy, the English version of The Two Sides of Publishing, and the German version of Dictionary of Chinese Cultural Knowledge were inked as the first result of the cooperation.
Agreement about publishing the English version of Dictionary of Chinese Cultural Knowledge, the representative of the academic book by PPM, was signed between PPM and Springer during the London Book Fair in April and the English version will be published as the Major Reference Works this year.
In recent years, PPM has strengthened cooperation with overseas authoritative academic publishing agencies. Its representative products in the fields of philosophy, politics, history, and more have been published by Springer, Taylor&Francis, Brill, Cengage, and Peter Lang, enabling them to enter international academic circles.
