The General History of Chinese Dress.

The General History of Chinese Dress received a warm welcome from Japanese readers after its Japanese version was published in April and the Chun Long Tang Bookstore in Japan arranged a month-long photo exhibition based on the book two months later.

The book talks about Chinese dress and related culture and history using words and photos and is divided into seven parts – daily dress, headwear, footwear, accessories, makeup, hair style, and military dress.

Based on unearthed cultural relics from 128 museums, the book replicates clothing from different dynasties of ancient China. It also has a dress culture column to introduce the customs, fashionable makeup, and changes in the way clothes were worn in different Chinese dynasties.

The book introduces the daily dress, headwear, footwear, accessories, makeup, and military dress in different dynasties of China.

It also talks about the politics, society, technology and changes in aesthetic consciousness between different dynasties in China.

The copyright for the General History of Chinese Dress has also been exported to Nepal.
