PPMG on world's top 10 list of publishers

BookBrunch reports PPMG's comeback at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Chinese publishing giant Phoenix Publishing and Media Group was ranked 10th on the list of the world's 50 largest publishers this year, which was unveiled on Oct 18 at the 75th Frankfurt Book Fair.
The company generated $1.99 billion in revenue last year, $3.84 million more than in the previous year.
RELX Group (Reed Elsevier) and Thomson Reuters continued occupying the top two places with respective annual revenue of $6.33 billion and $5.92 billion.
As an initiative by Livres Hebdo, this annual snapshot of the global book business has been updated every year since 2007 and was co-published by Bookdao of China, The Bookseller of the UK, Buchreport of Germany, Livres Hebdo of France, and Publishers Weekly of the USA this year.
The ranking lists 50 book publishing corporations worldwide with revenue of over $200 million each since 2007 and celebrates global book publishing's digital transformation, globalization and consolidation.
In addition to PPMG, three other publishers – China South Publishing and Media Group (17th), China Publishing and Media Holdings Co Ltd (27th), and China Science Publishing & Media Ltd (39th) – also made the list.
