The first session of the First Phoenix Publishing and Media Group Workers Congress and the 2024 Annual Work Conference were held in Nanjing, Jiangsu province from Feb 27 to 28.

Attended by over 300 participants, the meetings summarized the work done in 2023, analyzed the current situations, and laid major tasks for 2024.

Zhang Chaoyang, chairman of PPMG, delivered a key speech at the event, saying that in 2023, PPMG's three main businesses saw stable growth, witnessing a relatively rapid growth in economic benefits.

Upgraded consumption, advanced technologies, innovative business activities, and relevant national policies are expected to contribute to the group's development in 2024, he explained.

Zhang noted that this year, PPMG will enhance its core functions and competitiveness as it seeks to become a world-class publishing and media group. It will also contribute to the modernization of a strong, prosperous, and beautiful Jiangsu featuring high-quality development, he added.

Zhang also specified the main tasks for this year. The company will focus on releasing original books, strengthening innovation-driven development, and expanding international engagement.

He pointed out that the group has fulfilled its 2023 goals, and this year it will seek to become a more competitive publisher, boost development, expand international exchanges and cooperation, and inspire creativity.

Before the meetings, more than 150 staff representatives submitted 49 proposals involving the well-being of employees and PPMG's high-quality development, content production, technological innovation and personnel development.
