Shining Youth, a sports picture book series published by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing Ltd, has been made available both at home and abroad.
A launch ceremony was held on June 19 at the 30th Beijing International Book Fair.
The Shining Youth series is a set of sports-focused children's picture books. The series selects representative sports such as fencing, volleyball, gymnastics, diving, and soccer, basing the stories on the real experiences of children, including daily exercise, training and matches. Through inviting text and warm-hearted illustrations, it vividly portrays the tenacity and spirit of contemporary young children striving for excellence.

Author representative Zhao Ling, inspired during an interview with a gymnastics training team, said that in the creative process, she envisioned using various animal metaphors to depict the postures of children during gymnastics training, showcasing the resilience and breakthroughs of gymnasts in a lively and graceful style.
Zou Fanfan, another author representative, said she aims to portray the perseverance and enthusiasm of young fencers, and depict the exchanges and friendship between China and France, as well as the two cultures and peoples, through the sport.
Zhang Mingzhou, former president of the International Board on Books for Young People, said that the Shining Youth series serves as an excellent medium for cultural exchanges, enhancing understanding between Chinese children and those from other countries. He expressed willingness to recommend this new sports-related book series to various countries.
The publication rights for the Shining Youth sports picture book series have been exported to several countries including India, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Vietnam, and Canada.
