The National Officer for Philosophy and Social Sciences recently listed two projects of the Phoenix Publishing and Media Group among the 30 projects of scholarly popular literature in 2024.

The two listed projects are The Collision and Integration of Civilizations: A Brief History of the Silk Road, published by the Jiangsu People's Publishing House, and The Artistic Beauty of Song Poems, published by Phoenix Books.

The former is written by Liu Yingsheng, a specially appointed professor at the Sino-West Academy of Zhejiang University. It presents the grand history of exchanges and interactions between Chinese and foreign civilizations over thousands of years, with the Silk Road as the link.

Tao Wenpeng, a researcher at the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, writes the latter. The book delves into the artistic creation of poets of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), such as Su Shi, Xin Qiji, and Jiang Kui, focusing on artistic presentation methods like detailed description, depiction of scenery, and creation of scenes in their works.

Both projects are rooted in the exploration and interpretation of outstanding traditional Chinese culture. They showcase PPMG's recent deep implementation of content innovation strategies and strong support for original publishing.
