A seminar about the publication of natural preservation books by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing takes place in Tunis on April 26.

A seminar about the publication of natural preservation books by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing was held in Tunis, capital city of Tunisia, on April 26 during the 39th Tunis International Book Fair.

In recent years, the Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing has creatively presented China's ecological concepts, such as "green mountains and clear waters are equal to mountains of gold and silver", through picture books, popular science books, and various other forms. They have developed a series of high-quality reading materials like "Mountains of Gold and Silver: Me and Nature" and the "Beautiful New Era" series. Through various channels and activities, they have promoted these materials domestically and internationally, conveying the narrative of China's ecological civilization story with the world.

Guests shared their insights into topics such as high-quality products, cross-border communication, and the co-existence of civilizations during the seminar.

Mohamed EI-Khatib, president of Digital Future Publishing Group, said the current ecological issues are a global focus, and China has made remarkable achievements in ecological civilization. The Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing has transformed China's ecological wisdom, concepts, and successful experiences into easily perceivable wisdom for children, integrating them into a rich array of picture books and popular science products.

Taking The Village Has Changed as an example, the transformation of Zhejiang's Yucun village from a village with severe environmental problems to a beneficiary of a good natural environment is particularly appealing to children in the Arab region, EI-Khatib noted.

He believes that the ecological wisdom in the book aligns with the Arab region's pursuit of balancing economic development and environmental protection. He also hoped for further cooperation with Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing to promote cultural integration.

Saida Zemzemi, Tunisia's expert in environmental communication and media reports, believes it is essential to guide children in translating environmental protection concepts into practical actions and cultivating lifelong environmentally beneficial habits. She suggested that more attention should be focused on children's reading, allowing the ecological wisdom and cultural charm from different civilizations to intertwine and collide in children's hearts.

Wang Yongbo, president of Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing, pointed out that with the introduction of ecology-themed children's books like The Village Has Changed and radio dramas in the Arab region, children in Arabic-speaking areas will experience ecological changes through various media such as text and sound.

He added that this is not just a language translation, but also a resonance of ecological civilization concepts in the community with a shared future for humanity. He stated that this seminar, centered around children and facilitated by children's books, is the most vivid practice in building such a community.

The ecology-themed radio drama The Village Has Changed in Chinese and Arabic versions was simultaneously launched during the event. Based on the same name picture book, this radio drama portrays the ecological transformation process of Yucun village in Zhejiang province through professional voice acting and immersive sound effects. Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing also reached a cooperation agreement with the Tunisian Youth Radio Station for the broadcast of the Arabic version of The Village Has Changed radio drama.
