Phoenix Literature and Art Publishing and ACA Publishing from the United Kingdom signed an agreement to publish the English edition of Voices and Faces on March 11 during the 2026 London Book Fair.

This marks the first time that a collection of works by young writers from Jiangsu province in East China will enter the English-speaking market.

Voices and Faces is the first anthology representing young writers from Jiangsu, featuring short stories by more than 10 authors born between the 1970s and 1990s. Through their varied stylistic expressions, these writers exemplify the dynamic vitality that characterizes contemporary Chinese literature. Alongside the Chinese edition, the book will be released in English, Spanish and Hungarian.

David Lammie, chief editor at ACA Publishing, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration in his speech. He said that the creativity of Jiangsu's young writers is remarkable, and ACA Publishing is dedicated to refining the translation to provide overseas readers with a genuine and multidimensional view of contemporary China through these "voices and faces."

The translation team for the English edition includes renowned sinologists and translators such as Nicky Harman, James Trapp and Olivia Milburn, ensuring a perfect balance between literary quality and cross-cultural expression.

In recent years, Jiangsu Phoenix Literature and Art Publishing has been actively promoting the internationalization of high-quality content. By using copyright cooperation as a foundation, they have explored innovative paths for international communication. Initiatives such as international youth literature reading sessions and international poetry festivals are gradually building a multi-layered international publishing landscape.

As the English edition progresses, the Spanish and Hungarian editions of Voices and Faces will also be released in succession. The publishers have said that they will coordinate with international book fairs, literary festivals and youth reading activities to expand the work's influence, ensuring that these excellent works not only go global but are truly embraced by readers worldwide.
