The Best Egg Ever is a tender, emotionally rich story inspired by a real childhood memory of the author Zhang Mingzhou. It follows the secret adventure of a young boy who eagerly awaits a hen to lay an egg. He cooks the egg and savors what he believes to be "the best egg ever". This egg represents not only a child's small adventure and secret but also a mother's silent understanding and unconditional love.
The book's sincere text and warm illustrations convey the profound bonds of family through everyday life.
Gu Jianya, head of Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing, emphasized the book's deep emotional impact at the launch ceremony. He said that the collaboration between Chinese and South Korean artists is a vivid testament to the borderless nature of children's literature and the blending of cultures.
