Established in 1966 by the Bologna Children's Book Fair in Italy, the award is presented annually to outstanding children's books from around the world, recognizing their exceptional artistic design, innovative creativity and educational value.

Delivering Watermelon shares the story of a shy little red riding hood who gains courage and warmth as she delivers a watermelon to her grandmother. The book employs a unique artistic style of embroidery collage, rich in Eastern characteristics, weaving threads and warm colors to blend folk aesthetics with modern picture book expression, offering both the purity of a fable and the poetry of a fairy tale.
