Phoenix Publishing and Media Group capitalized on the 2026 China-ASEAN Book Culture Week, held at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair in Malaysia from May 29 to June 7, with new releases and more to enhance the group's brand influence.
As a key participant in the event, which this year is running under the banner "Culture Connects ASEAN, Books' Fragrance Spreads Far", Phoenix Media exhibited more than 170 high-quality books and took part in various cultural exchange activities.
The group showcased its diverse publishing achievements and engaged with local publishers, readers, and authors to explore cooperation in children's literature, picture books, education, popular science, humanities, social sciences, and integrated publishing.
The group's publications attracted much interest from local stakeholders.

The authors shared some of their childhood memories and aesthetic pursuits in creating children's books, emphasizing how excellent children's literature can transcend geographical and linguistic barriers to sow seeds of friendship in the hearts of children from both nations.

Phoenix Media also participated in the China-Malaysia Children's Publishing Seminar, which was organized by Guangxi Publishing and Media Group. Chen Wenying, deputy editor-in-chief of Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing, called for more collaboration with Malaysian publishing houses and the exploration of new formats like audiobooks and AI animation through digital platforms.
During the event, Phoenix Media and the Malaysia Jiangsu Chamber of Commerce entered into a strategic cooperation agreement. This partnership will focus on several areas including cultural exchange, education, publishing, digital integration, international communication, and vocational education.
Through cross-sector collaboration and innovative models, both parties aim to break through traditional cooperation barriers, enhance mutual understanding between Chinese and Malaysian cultures, and promote coordinated economic and trade development.
Founded in 1981, the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair is an annual literary event and one of the largest international book fairs in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Over its more than 40 years of development, the fair has become a vital bridge for publishing and cultural exchanges between China and ASEAN countries.
