The Phoenix International Children's Book Co-Reading Project, part of the Phoenix Publishing and Media Group's global strategy to promote original Chinese children's books internationally, has been launched in Malaysia during the 2026 China-ASEAN Book Culture Week in the Malaysian capital on the sidelines of the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair.

This initiative, focused on the Malay editions of the original children's literature published by Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing under Phoenix Media, was organized by Malaysia's Pelangi Publishing House. Local writers, scholars, and readers were invited to participate.

Since 2018, Phoenix Juvenile and Children's Publishing and Pelangi Publishing Group have maintained a fruitful collaboration. Notable works by renowned authors, such as Cao Wenxuan's Bronze and Sunflower, The Thatched House, and The Pomegranate Boat, and Huang Beijia's Flight of the Bumblebee and Polar Shuttle, have now been published in Malay.

Huang described her novel as a unique blend of science fiction and reality, designed to broaden young readers' horizons and inspire them to embrace the future with dreams and courage.

The Phoenix International Children's Book Reading Project, focusing on overseas translation and publishing, campus reading programs, promotion at exhibition events, and academic collaboration, seeks to establish a robust ecosystem for children's book publishing abroad, sharing the joy of Chinese children's literature worldwide.
