The 39th Moscow International Book Fair was held at the Gostiny Dvor Center from Sept 2 to 6, with Phoenix Publishing and Media Group showcasing a collection of 138 titles in Chinese, English, and Russian.

As part of the Sino-Russia Years of Education, this event marked a significant cultural exchange between the two nations.

PPMG presented a diverse array of high-quality publications across five categories: thematic publishing, humanities and social sciences, science and technology, literary classics, and artificial intelligence education.

Noteworthy titles included Global South: China's Perspective, and Deng Xiaoping: Stories Behind the Photos in thematic publishing. The humanities and science section featured award-winning books such as Visual Culture in Contemporary China, which is available in Russian.

In literature, highlights included the Mao Dun Literature Prize-winning Bomba, and Russian classics like And Quiet Flows the Don. The AI education category featured bilingual textbooks, including Overview of Artificial Intelligence.

During the fair, PPMG organized three key cultural exchange events to bridge Chinese and Russian cultures. The launch of the Russian edition of The Good Man of Nanking: The Diaries of John Rabe on Sept 3 was a poignant reminder of shared World War II memories, fostering historical dialogue between China and Russia.

On Sept 5, a seminar on translating contemporary Chinese academic books was held to explore strategies for introducing Chinese scholarship to Russian audiences. Later that day, the Silk Road Literary Dialogue took place, with a focus on the translation of Chinese literature into Russian to promote the dissemination of Chinese culture among Russian readers.

As the oldest and largest international book fair in Russia and Eastern Europe, the Moscow International Book Fair remains a vital platform for international copyright exchange.

This year's event coincided with the 30th anniversary of China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, underscoring the enduring friendship and cultural exchange between the two nations.

China participated as the Guest of Honor at this year's book fair, marking it as a significant event in the China-Russia Year of Education.
